Primary PE and Sports Premium
Ifield School endeavours to provide all pupils with access to a wide variety of high-quality Physical Education (PE) and sports. Pupils in all four curriculum pathways are provided with opportunities to engage in weekly PE lessons, swimming lessons, and PE Enrichment opportunities throughout their educational journey at Ifield School.
The school ensures that PE and sports activities are inclusive and tailored to the abilities and interests of all. Physical activity not only enhances physical health but also contributes to improved wellbeing, social interaction, and the development of key life skills. For pupils at Ifield School, engaging in physical activity improves motor skills, enhances coordination, and builds self-esteem. The PE curriculum provides pupils with opportunities to develop their physical development, communication, resilience and teamwork skills in a supportive and enjoyable environment.
The school will ensure the impact of the Primary PE and Sports Funding is sustainable by targeting resources to improve the skills and knowledge of teachers. This ensures they are equipped to deliver inclusive, engaging, and high-quality PE lessons that meets the needs of every pupil. By fostering a positive relationship with physical activity, the funding aims to promote a lifelong love of physical activity and sport for all pupils, empowering them to lead healthy and active lives.

We will ensure the impact of the Primary PE and Sports Funding is sustainable by ensuring that the funding is targeted to improve the skills and knowledge of teachers and promotes a lifelong love of sport for our pupils.
In 2023/24 the school received a grant for £1710. It is anticipated that in 2024/25 the grant will be £17087.
